Renaissance Port Everglades Hotel

Ok, so I bit the bullet and bid on Princeline( I was alittle afraid of the unknown) for a 4 star in the downtown or beach area in Fort Lauderdale. I bid $110, then $130. A message came back saying if I went to $160 I could probably find a 4 star. I got the Renaissance for $160 for March the 5th. Is this a good price? :D

I have always gotten it for under $100. Got it for $80 next Friday.

From the Marriott website:October 15-----$129

March 5---------$219

There's a big difference in hotel prices in south Florida, when comparing October(hurricane season) to March(spring break).

celticlady-you did OK at 27% off the rack rate.

I have used Priceline many times. A word of advice for any Priceline bidder. Never accept a counteroffer from Priceline. Turn it down and keep bidding in $5 increments. For example on my $80 winning bid I started at $60. I kept getting a message to bid some larger amount that would likely be accepted, it changed every day but it was more than $80. When you have until March you can be patient. Priceline is counting on you not being patient and overbidding. I am not saying that the hotel could be gotten for $80 in March but $160 is high.
