Sushi Restaurant Question

Hi Fellow Cruisers,

 

I'm looking at the NCL website today for a Dawn 9-day sailing in Feb. 2011. Planning to go with friends, and we all enjoy our sushi. I mean, we really enjoy our sushi!

 

I noticed that the website says for the Sushi restaurant that 'the menu is priced a la carte'. I checked a few other ships' information and it says the same.

 

Now last time I sailed NCL (Feb. 2010) Sushi was a pay restaurant just like Cagney's, Le Bistro etc. We paid $10 or $15 per person and had as much sushi as we wanted. Same when we sailed the Jade (twice), Jewel and Gem.

 

Are NCL now charging per plate, or serving, at the sushi restaurant? Please say it's not so!

On the Epic we paid ala carte, meaning a couple/few bucks for each item. It was not all you can eat.

eek, I hope not...Last month on the Spirit it was still $10 all you can eat...hubby LOVES his sushi!

Us too! And they do such a beatiful job of it. The bbq eel is my favourite but DH doesn't care for it. I liked that I could order as many pieces as I wanted.

On the Epic there was a sushi bar, not a sushi restaurant. There was no "cover". This certainly might be different on other ships.

Well, I have been saying sushi restaurant but true, it was more like a sushi bar on the ships I have been on. Bar stools at a counter in front of the sushi makers and a sake bar on one side. All part of the Asian / Teppanyaki restaurant area.

on the star a few weeks ago it was all you can eat for $15. you could sit at the sushi bar or in Ginza.

Speaking of sushi on Epic, does anyone know if they have soy warps? Love sushi, just not the nori!

No cover , Yes the menu is priced a la carte but the price is not to bad. I love eating sushi the most I spent at the sushi bar was about $17. Talk to the sushi chiefs they were able to make handrolls for me the server didn’t know what I was talking about. If you like chili sauce bring it with you (sriracha didn’t have) No soy paper sorry but they did make my wife a roll without seaweed they did their best. Hope this helps
