Last Mango Posted October 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2010 We're going to be flying into Venice from a short stay in the Netherlands. Not sure whether we'll be flying into Treviso or Marco Polo airports. Any suggestions on the best way to get from either airport to Venice? Not sure of the area in Venice where will be staying:rolleyes: for a few days before cruising. Any info, links and costs would be appreciated! Thanks. euro cruiser Posted October 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2010 There is an inexpensive bus from each airport to Piazzale Roma, from which you can either walk (Venice is quite small) or take the vaporetto. Here is the bus web site: http://www.atvo.it/index.php?lang=en&area=23&menuid=
hkto Posted October 17, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2010 Marco Polo is closer to Piazzale Roma than Treviso (30 min vs 1 hr by bus). Costs in Venice (food, lodging, etc) are high (above Italian average). City is small and walkable (about 2 km from Piazzale Roma to San Marco). We usually stay in hotels in walking distance from Piazzale Roma which is handy for airport transportation. Cruise terminal is also not too far from there. If you are looking for hotel costs try http://www.hotelscombined.com/ (gives relative pricing from a variety of booking sites)
