Probably stupid question, but would it be possible to rent a car in Oahu the morning we get off the ship (ship arrives at 7:00 a.m.) and drive to see Pearl Harbor and be back at the ship around 11:00 a.m.??? As we want to do the Princess Tour of the Polynesian Cultural Tour, which starts at 12:00 noon...We would love to do both of these, but it may be impossible. Thanks for your reply!!!

If you are going to rent a car, why don't you just drive yourself to the Polynesian Cultural Center? That way, you don't have to go all the way back to the ship? I believe they recommend that you get to PCC around 1-2 pm because the Canoe Pagaent starts at 2:30 pm so you have more flexibility to decide how much time you want to spend at Pearl Harbor and then go straight to PCC. You can easily buy tickets online at their web site too:

Thanks for replying' date=' CruisingGoddess....I was worried about getting the car back to the rental place and not getting to the ship on time, before it leaves...This is still up in the air.[/quote']

Are you on the Golden Princes? If so your all aboard time is 10:30 p.m. which should allow you plenty of time to go to both Pearl Harbor and the Polynesian Cultural Center and still return your rental car and get back to the ship that evening. We have rented a car from the Budget at the Hilton on Waikiki for the last two years on our port days in Honolulu and it has worked out really well. It is nice to have your own transportation and go where you want at your own pace.

Without a doubt, that is the way to go. It will not be feasible to do it the way you first presented it. there is simply no way to know when your tour will be at PH. Even at that, the tour is about an hour or so, with the movie, and you really do not want to just rush in and rush out. By using your car, you can stay a while longer and really appreciate PH and what it means.

Cheers
