ft. lauderdale hotel on the beach

I need suggestions for a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale on the beach. We are getting off a cruise on Feb. 7 and our flight out is Feb. 8, so I would like to get a hotel for the day right on the beach.

If money isn't an issue, and all beach hotels will be expensive given your time frame, I'd go with the Lago Mar or the Westin Diplomat.

We are staying at the Best Western Oceanside which we have stayed at before. It is right beside the Sheraton Yankee Clipper which is on the beach. We used their chairs and umbrellas. Also they have a great breakfast included and the Yankee Clipper people would come over to eat as their breakfast was not included Approx $15 taxi ride from the port.
