What is the easiest way to get from the port in Athens Piraeus to Athens Airport

There is an express bus (X96) that goes from the port directly to the airport for 3.20 euro per person (there's space for luggage on the bus). However, the bus stop is some distance from where the cruise ships usually dock; closer to the ferry docks.

Here is info if you are interested.

On my recent visit to Athens, I took the express bus from the airport into town (X95) and it couldn't have been easier.

Taxi or hired car is deffinatly the easiest but it's a long way to the airport so it is costly. We took the 96X bus and it is a bit of a walk from the cruise ship pier draging luggage. We had an afternoon flight so we figured we would save some money. We would do it again if we had a late enough flight.

We've taken the metro from the airport to Piraeus, which was easy...but you'll need a taxi to/from the port with luggage. We were going to a hotel, and no-one could understand the writing we had, so we had to get the hotel's address translated into the Greek alphabet by the travel agent in the station.
