MM42 Posted November 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2010 I noticed that for the winter season NOV/2011-MARCH/2012, the Crown and the Grand have the same itinerary for one of their 7 day cruises (Princess Cays, Curacao and Aruba). Why would they put two ships on the same itinerary?
simcoeguy Posted November 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2010 Because it sells very well over at Princess's sister brand!! Holland America finds it out sells the Western itinerary and nearly equalls the Eastern voyages in sales.
Rare Coral Posted November 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2010 The Grand was supposed to do 14 night itineraries. For some reason, Princess cancelled those cruises and made (2) 7 night cruises instead alternating between Southern and Eastern itineraries. My guess is that the 14 night wasn't selling well. Rare Coral Posted November 26, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 26, 2010 Both from Fort Lauderdale I think they are alternating ports/itineraries. The Crown is alternating between Western Caribbean and Southern. The Grand is alternating between Eastern Caribbean and Southern. The week I looked at, the 2 ships are not doing the same itinerary the same week.
