I have just been informed by someone going on the Caribbean Cruise for 28 days on December 18th, that we NEED Visa's to get off the ship. Has anyone who has just been on a similar cruise around the Islands or is due to go on this aware of this? If so which Visa's do we need pls.. We Visit 19 Islands during this trip!

Thanks

Graham

Graham,

Yes you will need an ESTA if you go to any American Islands or America itself.

You should find details on your cruise Personaliser. You can do it all on the web.

It takes approx a few mins to do it, you will also be charged for this service now. Think it is about 14 dollars but no sure I am sure someone will let you know.

Please do it before you board as last year it was a long struggle to do it onboard and you have to pay for internet use to P&O.

Assuming you're going from Barbados and not touching the USA or any of their islands you only need a form stamped by customs prior to disembarking. P&O will provide you with the necessary paperwork on board and they bring in immigration onto the ship and they stamp it there and then. Forms take 10 mins to complete and they are delivered to your cabin a couple of days prior to disembarkation, you turn up at a pre arranged time and queue for about 10 minutes; all very smooth and well organised

Is this the ventura cruise calling at New Orleans, Key West, Port Everglades, St Thomas etc. if so you will certainly need an esta to enter the US and St Thomas which is in the US Virgin Islands.

If you have a UK Citizen passport and satisfy the criteria of the US visa waiver programme, you will not need a visa to visit US territory - although as previously stated you will still need an ESTA. If you have another type of passport, or do not satisfy the criteria, you will require a visa - you will have to apply in person for this at a US embassy.
