Wait Listed

My wife and I are booked on Regatta Colors, Coasts and Coves that sails from Montreal to New York on October 12, 2011 and are on the waitlist for a penthouse suite. Presently, we are booked in an A2 cabin and I wonder if anyone has had experience clearing the waitlist.

Having booked almost a full year in advance, you probably will clear the wait list.

 

Having said that, you may have to wait until final payment comes due before you know for sure.

 

A lot can change in a year.

We generally are in a PH but when we booked the Midnight Sun cruise departing Dover 7/23/10 (we booked in August 2009) we were waitlisted for a PH and NEVER got one. It can depend a lot on how far down you are on the list.

 

Your TA should be able to tell you exactly where you are ... and if you don't have a TA, I'd suggest calling Oceania directly to find out.

 

It does depend on the cruise, of course. We are used to lots of cancellations come pay-up day but they didn't happen on our July cruise.

 

So you may well get your desired cabin. Just be prepared in case you don't. We were waitlisted for any PH, any VS, and OS. But we ended up in the A3 guarantee we started out with.

 

Again, that could have been because the Midnight Sun was a VERY popular itinerary.
