camreesmom Posted June 21, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 21, 2004 cruisequick smartcruiser I've heard good things about both of these on the CC boards. A couple that cruised with us in March used smartcruiser and didn't have any problems. Be sure to read the fine print.... some agencies don't honor coupons, most discount them and some have hefty cancellation charges. I've read some not so good stuff about icruise but can't speak about them personally. serene56 Posted June 21, 2004 #12 Share Posted June 21, 2004 You want to find out if the agency you are using honors price decrease up til the date of sailing. If not--find another agency. Whats the cancellation policy--how much will it cost you for any changes in your booking? How much to cancel? How much will it cost for you to get hard copies of your documents? sealegs9 Posted June 21, 2004 #18 Share Posted June 21, 2004 cruisesonly.com is the same as cruises.com . I just booked with Kevin at cruisesonly- very good. Did not get a great price, but my cruise is almost sold out- he did get me upgraded to JS aft (at current price). He'll search for specials when they are offered. RDeagazio Posted June 22, 2004 #19 Share Posted June 22, 2004 America's Vacation Center has excellent customer service combined with online convenience. They are very good about getting upgrades and also honor all coupons and price reductions. They will also match any reasonable quote and in most cases beat it. joeyddog Posted June 24, 2004 #20 Share Posted June 24, 2004 Right now I'm caught in online limbo with Cruises Only. This is the 2nd time I've used CruisesOnly. They were recently taken over by a larger company and since then their customer service has deteriorated. No agent is assigned to your case and they are unwilling to resolve problems. I'm still waiting for my docs for a 7-16 sailing. Rccl won't deal w. me and CruisesOnly keeps blowing me off. I'd go w. another online company if I were you
schpsych Posted June 25, 2004 #21 Share Posted June 25, 2004 I used cruisesonly and never had a problem. I just received my docs 2 weeks before my July 5 cruise. It is true, however, that they were recently taken over and no longer provide an agent. I did speak to customer service and they were helpful and nice. There are other places, though, that have better prices. Try *****.com. They appear to have the best prices.
FloridaGator Posted June 25, 2004 #22 Share Posted June 25, 2004 Have had wonderful service from cruise.com and also cruisequick.com. The only thing with cruisequick is that it is internet only, no phone contact, but they are very prompt in replying and usually beat other quotes.
