AECrowell Posted December 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2010 Has anyone heard that you are no longer allowed to bring soda and bottled water onboard? Holland America just told an acquaintance of mine that although you can carry on wine, you cannot bring sodas or bottled water. I always buy Diet Coke and water to take on with me and have never had a problem.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2010 I haven't heard about any changes in what you are permitted to bring on board.
terigo Posted December 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2010 If they changed their policy, it must have been in the last week... We took two 12 packs of canned soda aboard the Eurodam on 12/4.....went through the scanner, and no problems
barbaralynn72 Posted December 14, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2010 We just returned today from the ms Amsterdam (12/2) and I carried (12) 2 liters of Diet Coke on board. No problem whatsoever.
serendipity1499 Posted December 14, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 14, 2010 And I carried Diet Tonic on board, last month..Also no problem.. As far as bringing water on board, it's not really necessary, as the ships water is pure & can be consumed right from the tap..As a matter of fact I only drink filtered water at home, but have always found HAL's water to be pure.. Cheers....:)Betty
Gunther1 Posted December 14, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2010 I would ask your acquaintance for details IE who told them this ? Did they get a name ? I suspect something got changed in the passing of this information...like the game we used to play as kids where we passed the same story from person to person and it never stayed the same. Typhoon1 Posted December 14, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 14, 2010 Bring as many cases as you like, tag them, leave them with the porters and have them delivered to your cabin.
RuthC Posted December 14, 2010 #8 Share Posted December 14, 2010 If the "Holland America" who spoke to your acquaintance was someone in Seattle, then I wouldn't give the information much credence. They are notorious for giving out incorrect information. No such info has been posted to this board. And the posters here usually have it right! :D
AECrowell Posted December 15, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted December 15, 2010 Thank you, everyone! I was certainly hoping it wasn't true, as that is a very nice feature of Holland America to be able to take beverages on board.
