GOIN2C Posted December 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2010 I am booked on Carnival Valor in stateroom 8307,,,seems to be directly under the pool on lido deck. How bad is the noise going to be??????????
AWCHIEF Posted December 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2010 Potentially I would think that could be a problem. My rule is to always have a cabin above and a cabin below. Good Luck, but I don't think that I would have booked that cabin.
PDXJAS Posted December 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2010 So you did book. Now you should go and join the group of us on our roll call. Sorry no info on the cabin.
elcuchio24 Posted December 17, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 17, 2010 Look B4 you book. If you are an early riser no biggy, if not there could be some noise in the AM when they are setting, moving chairs around.
ejeffo Posted December 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 17, 2010 I have been under the pool deck on the Radiance OTS and I can honestly say it wasn't that bad. You could hear some deck chairs being dragged around but not much else. It was much worse on the Elation under the Galley. (and even that wasn't TOO bad.) I had a room on the Elation under the Galley and it drove me nuts! It sounded like someone was rolling a bowling ball above my head. Now I check the deck plans before I book. :) OP do you know if you can change to a different room?
rainbowflag Posted December 18, 2010 #9 Share Posted December 18, 2010 If you go to this site you can drag deck plans and overlay them on other decks to see where your cabin relates to the other(s). I checked on your cabin and it is forward of the pool but just in front of the stage on the lido deck. You could hear noise in the morning/evening. http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Main/dragit1.php?ship=Carnival%20Valor
jmcancruise Posted December 18, 2010 #10 Share Posted December 18, 2010 I always travel with earplugs. Husband snores like crazy, but also if noise is a problem from any other source, I don't have to worry about it.

dst Posted December 19, 2010 #14 Share Posted December 19, 2010 We have sailed the aft on Deck 8 on the Freedom (sister ship) and we were not bothered by noise at all. Occasionally we would hear a chair or two but nothing bothersome. You can also get earplugs from the Pursers Desk ;) Enjoy
Rare nimbex1970 Posted December 20, 2010 #15 Share Posted December 20, 2010 My personal rule is never below the lido deck and never above the promenade deck. One bad choide under the pool deck with the scraping of chairs all morning, each morning.... it set me off each day stark raving mad!:D But I plot the death of anyone that messes with my sleep, so it may be just me, but if you feel strongly about being awoken at 7 or 8am to overhead chair-scraping... change the cabin!
