how much to tip porters at the pier in San Diego?

We are wondering how much to tip the porters at the pier for two bags, each less that 20kls. We would like any information. We will be arriving at the pier by taxi, and understand that it is between 8to 10 United States Dollars. Also what would be the right tip for the taxi driver. Thank you for your help.

We generally carry on our own small bags.

I'd tip the porter $1per bag if I used one.

For such a short taxi ride an extra $1-$2 would be fine for a tip.

For the cab I would tip $2. For bags I usually tip $1-2 a bag. $1 per bag if I have a lot of bags and $2 if not many.
