Bingo - How much, how often?

As I recall, the least expensive package was around $40...very pricey in my opinion and low payouts. In addition to paper game boards, they also have those electronic gizmos that cost even more. Add it up for the week, and you are out a lot of $$$. Better off taking your chances in the casino.

on the dawn it was $39 for 3 cards for 4 games. $49 for 6 cards or $69 for 9 cards (3 are re-usable)+ 3 extra cards for the jackpot game. Prizes were between 100-350$ (If you get a fullcard in less than 45 numbers or so on the last game you win like 10k...)

We sailed the Jade last month and played Bingo twice. It was offered twice a day on sea days, and not at all on port days. However, we were sailing the Med and I think the vast majority of people go ashore, so it may be offered on port days in other places.

Bingo was $39 for the cheapest package (3 cards for 4 games). $49 for the middle option (6 cards for 4 games). And $69 for the "full meal deal" which was 6 cards for 4 games, plus 3 extra cards for the jackpot game, plus 5 strips of their "scratch tickets pull and peel games".

We only played bingo twice, once on the first sea day and once at the end for the free cruise. Payouts were quite low when I went, between $100 and $175, depending on how many people claimed Bingo. It made me kind of sad because I would have played more often for higher payouts and/or lower prices.

Hi! The bingo cards do sound really expensive, but it can be a fun way to pass the time. Can people share the cards? I'm thinking that if I play with my sisters, we can take turns buying the cards and each play with one, sharing the pots we win. ;) That way it won't seem like too much money - $39 once each, play three times.

Yes, you can share cards.

On the Epic last week they raised the price of all the packages by $10.00 on the last day. So, $39.00 package was $49.00, etc.

I didn't play but sister and wife did. They said the crew running the bingo, was not very good. They were amateurish, making inside jokes between themselves and not entertaining. As others reported prizes won were miserable compared to the cost of playing. Also numbers were computer generated, no balls.

Do you have to buy new cards for each set of bingo games you play? The reference to the 3 re-usable cards, what does that mean, are they re-usable at every bingo game or for a specific set of games? I know my mom is going to want to play, so I need to figure out my "bingo" budget. Thanks.

Bingo IS a ripoff on NCL. Very expensive and poor prizes. NCL must make a fortune on it. It's ok with me because I don't play and the suckers who do play help keep my cruisefare cheaper.

Well I am happy to be one of those suckers for you. We have won over $3000.00 on bingo and won the free cruise one time which was worth $1000.00 on top of our $3000.00 winnings. I love being a sucker especially when it gave us $1000.00 towards one of our cruises and paid for all of our on board account on our last cruise. I am one happy sucker!

Thanks and I wish one cruise was free but it was a certificate for a $1000.00 off a booking. Once we booked the cabin we wanted and added our DS it was still a pricey one, but it was one great cruise! We've been hooked ever since our first one.

The winner at bingo is a rare animal. The cruiseline makes beaucoup bucks on bingo , so you can imagine how many suckers lost. This, like a casino is a losing proposition. They build all those Taj Mahals because so many people win. Bingo on a ship is worse than a lottery. On a ship, if you don't like the odds, you can't leave and go down the street. Of course there will be the occasional winner, but there will be many more losers. The odds on a ship at bingo are terrible.

I sat through a bingo game with one of my travelling companions on the SUN in October. I thought it was a lot of money, and the people that won were the ones using the machines. The machine is a mindless way to play because it searches the memory banks for you as you are playing about 40 cards at a time. Of course your chances are better with the machine rather than buying just the card. I would watch and many people with the cards would be one number away from a bingo and the final winner was always the one with a machine.
