pjchilis Posted December 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2010 We're going to be on the Royal Princess out of Tahiti, cruising the Society Islands starting Feb. 21st. Any suggestions on companies offering good reasonable snorkels on Bora Bora, Huahine, Morea, Papeete, Rangiroa and Raiatea? Also, any tips on getting around or other things to see? Thanks, PJCHILIS
cruzgryphon Posted December 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2010 On Moorea - do Dr. Poole's whale watching...if things work out you'll get to snorkel above the whales (take your snorkel equipment with you as he doesn't provide any). Enjoy, CG
CSloan Posted December 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2010 We went last month and had a great time snorkeling with Bruno's tour (l'excursion bleue) in Raiatea. It included a stop at a Vanilla Farm and Vanilla Plantation. In Bora Bora we snorkeled on Patrick's 3/4 day Motu Picnic. One of the snorkel stops was an area some people refer to as the aquarium, which was amazing, and an area with small sharks and stingrays. I don't think you can go wrong with any snorkeling trips in that area. We did a precruise at the Hilton in Moorea - the snorkeling was also amazing there! FlightMedic555 Posted December 30, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 30, 2010 Look at my lengthy cruise review for the Paul Gauguin. On Moorea, if you want to snorkel, head to the Hilton and get a day pass. Their snorkeling is world class. My review has suggestions for Huhaine, Bora Bora, Aitutaki and Moorea

evandbob Posted January 7, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2011 I've done Dr Poole's Moorea whale watch - if the whales were resting, we could have gone snorkeling with them, however, they were moving rather quickly. In Bora Bora, try any of the shark/ray excursions . A guide will set a rope line up in 6' water, and we hung onto the rope as he tossed tuna chunks into the water.....first all the small fishes, gars, etc, then the rays, then the white tipped sharks. Exhilirating! Great photos if you have an underwater camera. Unforgettable.
