Wedding Advice Needed for Monarch

I am considering a November Wedding on Monarch next year. We are covering the cruise fare for all our guests, so this seemed like an affordable option.

Has anyone had or seen a wedding on this ship? Where do they do the ceremony? Is it a nice ship for a wedding. It seems kinda old, so that worries me.

Can anyone suggest a location on the ship we should request for our ceremony? We would like to do it in port before we sail.

Also, we will have about 15-20 guests if that makes any difference.

If anyone has any Monarch wedding pics to share, that would be wonderful.

We have seen weddings conducted in the Viking Crown and in the Conference Room area on deck 7. You should be able to get good rates in November. Monarch is a great ship for a small wedding. There was one when we were on this month and all seemed to have a great time. Good luck!

That's funny Lashelle. We were married on a ship as well (different local one) because of the licensing laws, you do have to get married while the ship is docked in a US location.

You and hubby should spring for a junior suite, (JS and above) are the only ones that have balconies. Smoking is only allowed on balconies, the casino and certain parts of lounges and outdoor decks, if that is an issue for anyone in your wedding group.

The staterooms are very small on Monarch. We have seen wedding parties onboard. We did see one ceremony, above the pool deck, and we watched from the viking crown.

Have a wonderful time with your planning. :)

There was supposed to be a wedding on our Monarch cruise last spring. The wedding was to be held on Coco Cay, but the weather was too choppy and we could not stop there on day two as scheduled. The wedding party were told that they would stop on day three instead. Unfortunately in-between days two and three the bride came down with a stomach virus and was quarantined and the wedding had to be canceled. They had about 30 guests on board who had all paid for their own sailing and everyone felt really bad. The wedding was rescheduled back in their home state.

So my advice to you would be get married before the ship sails from Port Canaveral to avoid any risk of illness!
