2333cleveland Posted January 13, 2011 #26 Share Posted January 13, 2011 What is the Hotel Room Tax % in Barcelona, seems I need to add this to the room rate to get a true cost per night
riffatsea Posted January 13, 2011 #27 Share Posted January 13, 2011 NO you don't need to add anything. The VAT is usually added into the price of the room. The web site will tell you IF it is added in or not. There is NO other tax you need to add.
Rare Hlitner Posted January 13, 2011 #28 Share Posted January 13, 2011 What is the Hotel Room Tax % in Barcelona, seems I need to add this to the room rate to get a true cost per night This is one of the nice things about booking hotels in Europe. As a general rule the price you book is the price you pay (an unknown practice in the US). About the only exception we have found was at a nice resort near Marbella where they actually charged a "resort fee." Hank
Rare kazu Posted January 17, 2011 #29 Share Posted January 17, 2011 I do the same thing as Hitner. I check the travel booking engines and the hotel's website. surprisingly, I have usually found deals on the hotel websites (no prepayment). Other times through the booking engines. It really pays to check both. lots of great hotels in Barcelona. pays to book early though as they can fill early and seem to get more expensive (or you just have less choice) as time goes on.
