soccersharon Posted June 28, 2014 #801 Share Posted June 28, 2014 Can I ask how much you tip for each? Thanks! About $50 for the room steward, and split $100 for the dining room staff. They have always been warm, attentive - and positively spoiled us! Sent from my phone. Typos are inevitable.

DontTreadOnMe Posted June 28, 2014 #803 Share Posted June 28, 2014 Carnival notified us that the Pride will be late in arriving tomorrow morning - 1015 is the estimate. So they are asking people to come to the port later than they normally would. I've never done FTTF before but did spring for it for this cruise. I am at a loss as to what time I should show up to take advantage of the FTTF but without having to sit around for 2 hours. Anyone have some insight to offer? mvaygibson Posted June 29, 2014 #805 Share Posted June 29, 2014 My husband and I were on the Pride Nov. 2013, interior deck 1. We had a mini-fridge. It was nice to have and we used it for water and soda and leftovers from the steakhouse! Brianna-hope you do a review after your cruise-I really enjoy them! Hope your Dad is feeling better and is going with you.
angela12345 Posted June 29, 2014 #806 Share Posted June 29, 2014 Would love to know any info on the drydock updates also. I cannot not find any information. We just booked for November 30th and will be our first time on the Pride.:) See near the bottom of the page, all of the 2.0 upgrades are listed on the fact sheet . . . https://www.goccl.com/~/media/Files/Irman/bookccl/the_fleet/PR_FactSheet.htm https://www.goccl.com/~/media/Files/Irman/bookccl/the_fleet/pride/pride.ashx
Mkehlb Posted July 6, 2014 #807 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Hi gem. First, best wishes on your marriage! I always tip extra. The way I see it is that I can more easily afford to give some extra bucks than the crew can afford to not get it. That said, I usually do an additional $1 (cash) per drink, $10/day to the cabin steward and dining staff really depends on a wide range of factors since we do anytime dining so frequently have different wait staff most nights. Cruise ship staff work so hard for so little money. Hope you have a fabulous wedding.
Rare rrraydon Posted July 6, 2014 Author #808 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Gem, As you've noticed, there are varying opinions on tipping. And, as you know, Carnival automatically adds approximately $12pp/day tips to your S&S account to cover your room stewards and your dining staff...this includes the dining staff all over the ship in all the different dining venues excluding the room service staff. Room service is tipped at the time of the delivery to your stateroom. Some tip more to staff members who cater to their specific needs..room service, dining staff, bar tenders/drink servers, kid camp personnel, spa services..etc. Some just go with what Carnival takes out and leave it at that... others go to guest services and remove their tip charges entirely. Since I usually purchase some variation of drink card..soda or booze... I usually keep some ones on hand to tip my drink server... Although Carnival states gratuities are included in the card purchase, I may run the servers around more than the next guy.. who's to say. Whatever you decide that's best for you... Have a great cruise!!!! :D
kurukthemal Posted July 15, 2014 #809 Share Posted July 15, 2014 How close does the Pride sail to shore leaving and returning to Baltimore? Will we feel like being at sea with no land on sight? Or will we be able to see the shoreline lights, etc and buildings during our north/south travels? Thanks!

You should definitely be up on the Lido Deck while passing under the bridges. And don't forget to check out the historical sites. Cookinmom2004 Posted July 15, 2014 #811 Share Posted July 15, 2014 We're traveling on the Pride in a few months. I've read about the nude art that's all over the Pride. We're traveling with a 5 and 7 year old. Are they going to be subjected to this every turn of the boat? I'm nervous this will spark discussions I'm not ready to have! WetToes Posted July 15, 2014 #812 Share Posted July 15, 2014 It is everywhere, but I wouldn't be concerned. If you don't act like it's a big deal, they won't either. They may notice it at first, but then they won't, ... unless you react to it. Relax.

I will let you know, as we have 9, 7 and 5 year old girls with us this Sunday. I think the statue of David is going to spark the most conversations. They are all aware of the boy/girl differences and I am expecting giggles and "that's gross" comments. The one party member that is most concerned about it my 86 year old Mom who is also traveling with us. I find it a bit funny and am not too concerned. Nyghtdreamers Posted July 15, 2014 #814 Share Posted July 15, 2014 My first cruise on the Pride is in October, however from what I understand it's all classic art nothing sexualized. If your concerned about your kids maybe take them to a museum before your cruise and talk about the progression of art styles through the ages. That is where the statue is. It's not something that you have to walk past to get to the shows or to the dining room. The rest of the art shows unclothed bodies, but not graphic. It probably won't be noticed. Except on the elevators where people have scratched off the nipples on all the wall paper. That is what makes you look-the glaring white spots. The thing that makes me giggle is the plastic plant at the bottom of the atrium curved staircase. Looks like a pot plant. I have no idea what kind of plant it is supposed to be. ;) Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
rpmljm Posted July 22, 2014 #821 Share Posted July 22, 2014 (edited) Without reading all 42 pages of this thread, could someone tell me where and when the taste bar is? MoMo07 Posted July 22, 2014 #822 Share Posted July 22, 2014 When I was on in February it was in the hallway between the casino and the Taj Mahal, not far from the coffee shop. But it was mobile so they could potentially move it.

CorrieCJ Posted July 22, 2014 #824 Share Posted July 22, 2014 Pretty sure it's in the Fun Times, it will say Deck 2 Aft (or something like that). It is next to the coffee shop, outside the karaoke lounge (starry nights?)
