paul929207 Posted January 7, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2011 If youhave a suite (mini or full) it is $11 per person per day. For all others, it is $10.50 per person per day. An excellent deal

Northender Posted January 7, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2011 I am one who really likes the auto tip feature. I, personally, have never, ever removed them and have tipped extra for excellent service. There was only one instance that the extra was not given.:) Where is Colo (Keith)? Times Prince Posted January 7, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 7, 2011 I consider the Hotel Charge (aka Autotip) as part of the price of the cruise, paid onboard ship. Well worth it as compensation for the great service. Extraordinary service gets extra.

Toddy709 Posted January 8, 2011 #11 Share Posted January 8, 2011 I have yet to ever experience service that would be worth LESS than the minimum "hotel service charge". I have only once had service that was NOT worth an extra cash "tip". I think that's a pretty good track record!
ONT-CA Posted January 8, 2011 #12 Share Posted January 8, 2011 When you check your printed copy of your shipboard account you will find the daily charge listed as HOTEL CHG. Why people insist on calling it a tip is beyond us. The ship issues the Hotel Chg.... we issue the tip.

cruiseron36 Posted January 8, 2011 #14 Share Posted January 8, 2011 I did a search for colocruiser, I think that was his name, and came up dry? He doesn't appear on the membership list either. He must have gotten frustrated with the forum, which is understandable.
Loonbeam Posted January 8, 2011 #15 Share Posted January 8, 2011 That's actually a good way to put it, although the Hotel Chg will be confusing to some, as well as if they are not aware, some people will feel obligated to tip more as its not evident that the Hotel Chg goes to the crew.
