Is one side of Golden promenade deck still smoke free?

I know this can vary from sailing to sailing, but does anyone know if one side of the Golden promenade deck is smoke free on the recent Hawaii sailings. Which side? Also, I have a recent Patter and it says smoking is allowed outside in designated areas that are clearly marked. Does anyone know where these areas are? Again, would they be only on one side of the open decks.

On our recent Golden cruise we only noticed the port (left side) area of Lido deck 14 around the area just outside of the Calypso pool & may have extended to the Prego Pizzaria but could be wrong. We didn't spend much time outside on the Promenade so can't help there but if it's allowed, it could be on the same port side.

WE just got off on the 5th of January. Although one side was marked as "No Smoking", people didn't seem to respect that and we certainly didn't see it enforced. Perhaps because of New Years, they were a little lax?

I have never sailed on the Golden, but it appears that the casino doors open directly to the promenade deck, so it won't really matter if one side of this deck is designated non-smoking, both sides will be smokey. Also, more gamblers are likely to step out and light up on either side, so it is less likely that the non smoking signs will be respected. Can anyone confirm that this is the case?

Have sailed on Star, Golden, Diamond and Coral. On all ships the smoking area was Lido deck forward on the port side. The area is easily identifiable by the ashtrays on the tables, and cigarette butts dropped on the deck.

Cigar smoking is permitted in the Cigar Lounge (Churchill's) on those vessel that have one.

Ciao for now!!!

On every Princess ship I've been on the port side on Lido, smoking is allowed [not the indoor pool of course] and the starboard side is always nonsmoking. I have seen people light up on the nonsmoking side before and always get an employee to remind them to put out their cigarettes. It's never been a problem. sometimes people just don't realize that the starboard side isn't for smokers...

Princess doesn't do a very good job with their signage either, because on Emerald Princess I remember tiny little placards which said "no smoking please"

On other ships I simply remember little cards placed on the tables at the outside pool which said "no smoking"

You will be subjected to smoking if you have a balcony on either starboard or port, however

It's true that there's no smoking in the indoor pool area port side but when the doors open the smoke from the forward section gets sucked in & infiltrates the area anyway. It always better to sit on the starboard side to avoid the smell.

We were on the same cruise, but fortunately didn't see rule breakers. If we were walking from the covered area past the outdoor pool and sell tobacco, we would cross over to the non-smoking side for our journey. We did go into the casino on a non-smoking night, not to gamble but to wait for the Princess theater to open, but it still smelled ranky to me.
