theshowmestate Posted January 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2011 We're doing AK in July hoping that we can do the dog sledding excursion. What type of weather conditions should we plan on and dress for, I know it'll wide range, I'm looking for averages.
chipmaster Posted January 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2011 Dog sledding by helicopter? Remember that will be several thousand feet up on the glacier pack and surround by snow/ice. On sunny day you can get by in jeans, and one layer of fleece/sweats. On the other hand if its rainy and chilly you could get rain and 50's temperature easily. So just like for the cruise 3 layers + gloves, sunglasses and warm cap/hat. We're doing AK in July hoping that we can do the dog sledding excursion. Budget Queen Posted January 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2011 They will provide your boots, (I'm assuming you are talking about glacier dog sledding?). Bring layers, knit hat and gloves. It's rarely "real" cold.
chipmaster Posted January 8, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2011 Yes it can be cold, but on sunny days it can really be fine with just gloves, head protection and on overlayer.
