No laughing...which is the best drink (most alcohol) for your dollar?

I was just wondering what is the strongest drink you can buy, that makes your dollar go far? I'm usually a Margarita kind of girl, but out of the last ten Margaritas I've had, only ONE of them was worth the money. The rest just tasted like over-sweetened lemonade. :(:o Even my 14-year-old dd (who had a TEENY TINY sip) couldn't taste anything other than the mix (and she thought it was too sweet). So I'm a bit shy about paying over $9 for a wear drink.

Honestly, I'd say the Long Island Iced Tea's but I'm not a fan of regular Tea anyways. So, I'd rather pay for an extra shot of Rum in my Bahama Mama's.....or make them as strong as I want in my room with my BV bottle.

Depends on your bartender. Last month on the Dawn,

was like $6.89 for a Captain & Coke, grautity included.

I always gave them an extra tip of a couple of dollars

cash for each drink.

Each drink also got stronger as I tipped..

Like I said depends on the bartender

and/or waitress...

I'd second that! The Long Island is strong with almost all booze and just a bit of mixer.

I would also say that the Long Island Ice Tea is worth the price if you are looking for a "jolt"! I recently tried them for the first time on my Freedom cruise last September, and I must say that they did pack a "punch". That means for me....one only, or get one as a nightcap and bring it back to the stateroom! I also found the Funship special, the DOD on the day of departure, to be quite potent. I can manage two of those.:D

I had a couple of whiskey sours for about $5 or $6 each and they were super strong.

We also had a rusty nail which was about $5 and that was a knock you on the butt type drink. It's really strong though because it's Scotch and Drambuie. :p

For pure alcohol a Frozen Mud Slide is the best drink for booze.

Kauluha, Vodka & Bailey's are in a Frozen Mud Slide!!

That sounds heavenly but makes me think I wouldn't be able to have any dessert on those days! ;)

Good to know about the "tipping". I'm usually pretty generous so I'll just continue the "habit".

Vodka Martini, no mixers.

Fosters in the can - same cost as a bud but double the beer....

Ummm...I just realized I've never had a Long Island Iced tea.:o Surely they can't taste bad?

Never had a LIIT? Have you been living in a convent of some kind? Treat yourself, live a little! Try a 4 horseman shot while you're at it!

They're delicious!

Also, keep an eye on the Fun Times..some days when you order a Carnival Classic cocktail (LIIT, Mai Tai, etc) you get a $5 match play coupon in the casino for each drink purchased. I'am already buying the drink..and I gamble so it works well for me.

I second and third the "find your bartender" kick. Two years ago I was on a cruise and we always went to the same bar. The bartender knew us by name, and knew that the tab always went on "mama's card." He made our drinks strong for us and even saved the last of the fresh mint leaves to make my dinner mojito for me....

LOL!! Not even close. ;) But I had my first dd when I was 21, so my "party days" were very short lived. :o (I only say that because my sister who frequented clubs at that age used to drink them all the time.) I'm usually a Margarita or Sangria type of girl. Since I'm going on this cruise with just my BFF, however, I'd like to "live a little".

Long Island Ice tea and tip the bar tender a couple of times

I go the extra dollar route. I deal with the bartender, not a waiter. I tip an extra buck on top of the 15% added. Almost always the drinks do get stronger.

While LI iced tea may have the most booze, you still have to drink the disgusting thing.:D:eek: I'll stick with the island rum, tropical, libations.:)

If the Long Island is made correctly it will taste just like Nestea or some other powdered iced tea with lemon. If they are not made correct they can be pretty bad. However, it still has the most alcohol so if it is made bad just chase it with something like a beer:)

last year on the destiny i asked our server on the lido deck the same question... he brought me something called a "blue-motherf*cker." i don't know it was... it wasn't very good... but very very strong! he said there was a childrens' version called a "blue motorcycle," or something like that.
