juanarcin Posted January 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2011 I am looking to go on my first cruise in the middle of this year. As I look around for prices and stuff I am wondering if the prices are per person or per room? For example if I find a cruise I am interested in and it has a balcony for 1500, is that per person or for the room? If it is per person, what is to stop people from buyng the balcony for 1500 and then getting the second person on the trip a 400 interior room? This would mean the two would get on the boat for 1900 and would sleep in the balcony as opposed to buying two balconies for the price of 3000. Forgive me if this is a silly question but I am used to flat rates at hotels for the room only, now that I am planning a cruise I am confused on how this works. firefly333 Posted January 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2011 Its per person based on double occupancy PLUS taxes and fees. If you book solo, most cruiselines will charge double but you only have to pay one person's worth of taxes and fees. So two people have to generally book the rate. paul929207 Posted January 16, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2011 The prices that are advertised are per person, but based on double occupancy.
jbellpower Posted January 17, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2011 Per person, double occupancy, plus taxes, port charges, and gratuities.
janina Posted January 19, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2011 The priced advertised is per person, and just the base rate. Than you must add on taxes, insurance, airfare and remember gratuities. Now you've got your cruise price.:)
