Question about Plantation/Ft Lauderdale

I would appreciate some info about the Sheraton in Plantation/Ft Lauderdale.

Thank You in advance......:) Do we need to rent a car to see the city?

The Sheraton in Plantation (the one on University Drive) is in a city called Plantation, Florida. It is 10 miles from anything of interest in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale or the beaches of Ft. Lauderdale. In order to "see the city" as you say, you would need to rent a car, unless you don't mind the cab fare to and from. That said, the area where the hotel is is a suburban area with shopping and restaurants nearby.

Thank You so much......I think I will go to plan "B" Look for a hotel near the water.

We have stayed at the Sheridan Plantation 2 yrs ago prior to our Crown Princess cruise and have just booked it again..Rooms are huge with a sitting area, tons of restuarants and shopping in the area..We will have a rental car which is key to this area...

While we didn't want to "see the city", Plantation was perfect for our pre-cruise stay of 2 days because we didn't need a car. We didn't stay at the Sheraton, but after taking our hotel shuttle over there, everything we needed all day was walking distance- places to eat lunch and dinner (no repeats!), a bit of shopping, a place to pick up coke/wine. No car necessary. Then the hotel took us to the port.

(And picked us back up at the port for a post cruise stay and took us to the airport again.)

Plantation was totally no hassle for us!
