Irishvisions Posted January 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2011 Does anyone have a suggestion of a bus/limo/van/cab company that can accommodate a group of 12-14 people from Penn Station to Manhattan Cruise terminal? We'd like to use either large van(s) or a mini bus. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the taxi fare from Penn Station to the cruise terminal? 138east Posted January 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2011 It's a short distance - $10-12 cab fare. Why don't you just get 4 taxis? For such a short run it's probably cheaper than making a special bus or van arrangement.
Irishvisions Posted January 20, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted January 20, 2011 A van cab would be great. A few people in our group have never traveled far or cruised so they're concerned about getting shuffled in the traffic and not being together once we get to the port. Just trying to weigh our options but a $12 cab fare sounds better than hiring a bus.

The cabs are in a line and it is very easy to let each cab driver know you are all together and because it is such a short trip, they'll stay in each other's line of sight. It would be really hard for all of you to get too separated.

All you need to know is the Cruiseline and ship name.
Evaninmainesmom Posted January 21, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Depending on your ages, you might even walk. That is what my husband and I did last year! :) It isn't that far. We figured we were burning off some calories!
Carnac767 Posted January 27, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2011 It's easy to grab a cab from Penn Station and it's a short drive to the Manhattan cruise terminal. The highest fare I've ever had on the meter was $6.70. There are very good car services in the city, such as 777, but for a party of your size it will cost at least $50, plus a tip for the driver. If you have the driver drop you off across the street from the terminal, you can just drag your bags across the street (it's a protected crosswalk), rather than waiting in the long line of taxis, limos, and cars waiting to drop people off in front of the terminal (and also save on the ticking meter). It's really pretty easy.

Keep it simple. ;)
