Thats interesting that they said that. On the AIS data, two tugs just moved into place. Not the Millennium Dawn and the other one, but these two are Saturn and Spartan. One is in the front of the ship and one is in the back of the ship.

Spoke to Splendor and pilot is onboard and........the engine has started , gangway is still down but should be up in a moment. Yipeeee, and thanks San Diego for your hospitality

So why do they need the tugs when the ship has thrusters?

 

 

So the tug operators can make money, too.

;)

Lots of ports have requirements for tugs when maneuvering close to the piers... There's also a possibility that Carnival requested them out of an abundance of caution...
