Stateroom next to Laundrette - Ventura

We were next door down from the laundry on Oceana and it was fine, although obviously there was a bit of traffic outside of the door. You couldn't here machines or the chat...and you could always get an empty machine / ironing bourd early in the morning:)

Well the launderettes can get quite busy even early in the morning as people start their washing then go to breakfast. The doors are quite heavy and do slam and there can be chit chat outside as people mingle.

Dont think there would be any noise through the walls though otherwise P&O would never be able to sell those cabins without complaints.

Shame they don't have these on Celebrity. We could do with them in the Summer for 14 nights, I don't fancy paying the laundry prices we will just have to pack enough to last us!

We probably won't use the laundry on our 7 nights in April on the Oceana but we could well make use of the ironing board so that is good to know. ;)

The launderette on each ship can be different , for example on Arcadia its a very narrow cubby-hole with 3 or 4 washing machines with tumble driers overhead, and one ironing board in the walking space infront of the machine with iron attached . ALL are free of charge, I take a couple of bold washing tablets which have a built-in conditioner and are better than liqui-tabs which can burst and make a mess.Very rarely use them, but packed just in case (once spilled a cup of tea on a lounger down a new favourite sundress, so that went to launderette)

Other ships have slightly larger launderettes like Aurora with 3 or so irnoning boards and more room to move about, they are found on every other deck usually.

I wouldn't have a cabin next-to or opposite the launderette for reasons given so far, noises of people hanging about in corridor (outside your cabin) waiting to use machines and irons, which if you fancy a afternoon nap on a sea day or after a hectic port day before dressing for dinner you may well be distrubed by banging doors and people chatting outside the cabin. If possible, choose a cabin away from launderette.
