Rotterdam to Amsterdam on our own

We will be on the Crown Princess and would like to this port on our own. Could some one tell me the easiest and most economical way to get there :confused:

 

Details on travel please and must sees appreciated :o

Most economical is the train from Rotterdam Centraal station to Amsterdam CS.

Frequent trains each hour, some of them "highspeed". - although not real hispeed, but less traveltime.

Check http://ns.nl/cs/Satellite/travellers for all details and prices.

From the cruiseterminal either take a cab, bus or metro to CS.

Ine told you how to go from Rotterdam to Amsterdam by train. However, should you be interested in seeing Rotterdam and do some walking, you might have a look at the following http://www.*****.com/rotterdam.html

 

It also gives you some more details about how to get from the cruise terminal to the train station (in case you don't want to take a cab).

BTW another very interesting city is Delft which is much closer to Rotterdam.

We plan on doing the Lair Bear walking tour this summer in Rotterdam.

 

As Lair Bear article points out, you can easily take the tram to the central station in Rotterdam.

Two As in Dutch, but yes; CS = "Centraal Station"

 

Most cities will have multiple stations, but the CS is generally the main one (Den Haag being an exception where mainline Rotterdam-Amsterdam trains dont stop at Den Haag CS and only stop at Den Haag HS)

When went to catch the hi speed link between Amsterdam and Rotterdam last year,it had was cancelled due to rail works in schipol airport even tho we had pre bought tickets,but the up side was we had a scenic journey,if you want you can pre order your tickets and insure a booking on thye hispeed :):)
