Receipts for gifts ordered by phone ... Pia???

I'm sure this must have been answered somewhere on the boards, but CC's search engine is a disaster :(:(

 

I plan to order casino credit "gifts" in significant amounts by phone to Princess rather than taking cash with me. I understand that there is no notation on the personalizer of these purchases. Other than my credit card bank records, is there any sort of receipt that I can use in case the credit vouchers don't show up in my cabin? Will they email a confirmation if I request it? Or do they give you a transaction number for the phone purchase so it can be tracked aboard ship?

 

The reason for my caution is that I am thinking about more than just "a few dollars".

Not a direct answer, but you can use google advanced

search, and specify a domain to search...like:

boards.cruisecritic.com

 

I've found this useful with quite a few web site.

Another advantage is that there may be a cached

copy, when the original has been deleted.

Hello:

I have ordered casino credits in the past and have not gotten a receipt. I just ordered some in the last two weeks and asked the representative about a receipt. She informed me that since my reservation was made with a Travel Agent, the agent would get the receipt.

Whoa there Nellie... this is none of my TA's business!! I'm not using a card that the TA has any knowledge of. Neither is the amount of any concern to them.

 

Pixie dust - is your booking thru a TA or direct?

Hi Andy. I booked our cruise through a TA, but called Princess directly to purchase the casino credits. When you call Princess, just request an email confirmation and they'll oblige. I like to have that email in hand; leaves nothing to chance.

I ordered onboard credit as a gift for someone (by phone) and also ordered the vow renewal package via fax. Both times I asked for e-mail confirmations and never received them - I even second requested an e-mail confirm for the phone order and still nothing. All I have to show for anything is my credit card statement. Next stop is to call them to be sure everything is fine.

Tonight I did a "test run": ordered our internet package. I was prepared to ask for a confirmation. After the processing was done, The rep (Lee, a lovely person) asked me if I wanted one. I said that I did, and verified my email address with her. Within minutes I had the confirm in my inbox. It will be printed and included in our "take on board" envelope.

Since so many of us receive email confirmations, could they be going into your email's Junk folder?

I ordered onboard credit for our cruise next week. Called Princess directly and them Email receipt/confirmation was in my box within 1 minute of the end of our conversation.

I get all my other e-mails from them just fine using the same e-mail address. The e-mails looking for final payment certainly didn't disappear. :D I'll give them a call this weekend as I would feel better having something in hand. They are always so pleasant and helpful when I call so I don't mind it so much.

I had the same experience but since 'nomarfan5' did not, it was a suggestion about why they did not receive theirs. My email has the option to send any email that's not in my address book or safe list to my Junk folder. So it was an attempt to figure out why all of us get them but not 'nomarfan5'. :confused:

I would check my mail filtering anyway. Princess email comes from several different email adresses. The confirms for gifts come from reservatios (at) princesscruises (dot) com.

I use Windows Mail and I do have mail that goes in my junk folder but nothing from Princess. However, I've had issues in the past with Comcast so it could be they are blocking it before it ever gets to me. I can't use Comcast with RCCL so I'll probably call Princess this weekend and change everything to my yahoo account. Princess is so much easier to deal with than Comcast! :)
