italyforme Posted February 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2011 We are platinum on Princess and have booked our first Costa cruise in the Med this fall. Can we request that our status be transferred since they are sister lines or is there any benefit to be gained by doing so? Anyone?
sidari Posted February 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2011 As far as i am aware you cannot transfer status across as far as i know! you used to be able to do it here in the UK with P and O but that was stopped about 2 years ago. The only lines i know where you can is RCI to Celebrity and Azamara and vice versa. But i could be wrong.
G.M.T. Posted February 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2011 Never heard of such athing, but that is not to say it is not possible. Suggest you contact both Princess and Costa for their reaction. Ron
RoadTripFanatic Posted February 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2011 Last time I checked you could not use the perks with a different cruise line even though they are owned by the same company.
Rare Essiesmom Posted February 23, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2011 You can book with past passenger rates, but loyalty perks do not transfer. EM
italyforme Posted February 23, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted February 23, 2011 Thank you for the responses. I called Costa just to reconfirm and as you all suggested there is no reciprocal benefit for the sister lines' loyalty programs. Oh well...hopefully, we'll have a nice experience on Costa and will want to repeat it! :D

jdvmd Posted February 28, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 28, 2011 You can book with past passenger rates, but loyalty perks do not transfer. EM I've been trying to do this with an online booking myself. When I go to enter in the past passenger number, do I use our Carnival number since that is the company that owns Costa? I also have numbers for Carnival's other brands like Princess etc.
