explorer of the Seas question

When you are leaving Port Liberty, which side of the ship will be facing the Statue of Liberty? We are in a GS 1268 and wanted to know if we would see lady liberty from our balcony?

Thanks,

Lisa

We just got off the explorer on Sunday. We were on OS 1600 (opposite side of your suite) We saw statue of Liberty from our balcony on our way out not on our way back.

I could be wrong, but based on what I know about the harbor and what has been posted on CC the pier is located to the south and west of the Lady. The ship backs into the pier so the port side faces the back side of Lady Liberty.

If you have never sailed out of Cape Liberty on Ex, you might want to be on deck 12 or 13 all the way fwd. The experience of going under the bridge is one you wont want to miss! Then.,...back to the privacy of your balcony if you want. But, dont miss it. Youtube it, it is so very cool. :)

When leaving Port Liberty, the last place you want to be is your balcony.

You want to be topside, and checking out both sides as you head towards the V Bridge.

So much to see up top.

This is correct. However, on the starboard side is the Teardrop monument that was given to the US by Russia to commemorate 9/11. You'll want to see that too. Wonderful views at this port although there is construction. Cape Liberty used to be a military terminal, so it needs some work. You'll see some of the improvements(condos and golf course) as you enter. In a few years it will be beautiful.

Looking from the starboard side:
