Enbarcation time on Seabourn Pride

I'm taking my first Seabourn cruise this year. It is on the Pride, starting in Civitavecchia. Seabourn shows boarding time as 2 p.m. I called to see if we can board earlier than this (without getting into our cabin) since we arrive in Rome early that morning. Seabourn said that we can't get on the ship till 2, and that we'll "have to wait" at the port. Is this indeed the policy? Anyone have experience with the boarding procedure for Seabourn? Thanks.

Yes, that's the policy. The ship and its crew need the few hours since the last passengers disembarked to ready the ship for you.

That said, these arrangements are subject to the discretion of the check-in and ship's staff. They may start embarkation a bit earlier than 2:00 pm.

Enjoy your cruise!
