NW Pacific Posted April 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2011 I read somewhere probably on "Air Cruise" topic that taxis do not want the short run from the Port in NOLA to a FQ Hotel- does that mean they won't take you, or just are not happy. Are they regulated to take their turn in line and take the customers where ever they are going, or can they refuse a short ride?? thanks

Whitehouse Posted April 11, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2011 We have cruised a couple of times out of No and would leave our car at Drury. We had no problem catching a cab to the hotel or felt like they did not like the fare. There are several cabs right where you come out of the terminal. truchattycathy Posted April 12, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2011 We too stayed at the Drury and when we came out of the terminal went to the left where the taxis were waiting. The cab driver was very nice, seemed happy to help us, loaded our luggage, told us about NOLA on our short drive and even unloaded our luggage at the hotel. No problem at all!!! slybear Posted April 20, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2011 Its $7 per person whether they take you 1 block or 1 mile so it should not be a problem.

Especially when fares to/from the port are flat rate to many locations. You shouldn't have any issues, but if you do, feel free to write down the taxi number and report them to the taxi bureau. Jfultz81 Posted May 3, 2011 #10 Share Posted May 3, 2011 Is it $7/pp regardless of hotel? We're staying at the Springhill Suites right by the port, but are leaving our car there.
