Mister T Posted April 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2011 We are booked on Adonia Xmas cruise D115. Tripoli is one of the Ports of call but thought with all the trouble in Libya it might be changed. But no! On the P&O website it is the Featured Port of Call! Interesting to see what the tours are
Merlin7 Posted April 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2011 We are on Oceana, November 21st and have been notified that Tripoli has been replaced with Alexandria. The information on there is often wrong.

Merlin7 Posted April 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2011 Me too! Although I am hoping if things settle down it may be reinstated. That was mentioned in the information form our TA. It may be reinstated!!! Not holding my breath though. Shame we cannot visit as friends of ours did a land based holiday in Libya, not so long ago, and said that the sights are magnificent and the people very friendly and welcoming of tourists. Hope they are soon able to welcome tourists again. Our adult offspring visited Egypt a few weeks ago and we were amazed that they managed a tour form Sharm to Cairo. Apparently they were only the second tour to visit the pyramids after they reopened to tourists. They were welcomed enthusiastically by the local people. Let's hope the same happens in Libya. Rare Host Sharon Posted April 12, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2011 We can hope. Alexendria looks very good as well - I've only been to Port Said and Cairo before so at least it is a new port, for me anyway.
jeanlyon Posted April 12, 2011 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2011 We did a private tour in Alexandria in an ordinary car with a guide and driver. It was great and we saw a couple of places we would not have seen on a ship's tour.
CASPALL Posted April 12, 2011 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2011 We booked this cruise when it came on sale first - really because of the Tripoli port of call. Can't be helped though and you never know what may happen between now and Xmas. Caryl :):(
