What's the weather like in July?

Every year can be so different even every month or day. We were there in July and it was around 50-60 degrees, but last year they sort had a heat wave. So who knows. Just always go prepared with clothes, layer, layer and more layers.

As Marilyn said - it can be very unpredictable. You can have gorgeous weather and wear shorts or have cold and wet weather. 3 years ago, we cruised the first week of July and it was cold, wet and rainy. The week before and week after were better. Be prepared for both!

We went the last week of July 3 years ago and it was cold and windy! and rainy. Some friends of ours went 3 weeks before us and had gorgeous weather. Alaska is finicky. Pack layers just in case. I'm always cold anyways but it was ridiculously cold when we were there. The sun came out the last day of the cruise, that was the only time I wore just a short sleeve shirt rather than my sweatshirt, coat, etc. But despite the cold, it was incredibly beautiful and totally worth it. Just go prepared.

That is the summer where the first week in July was cold, wet and rainy for us also.

The week before us was nice. When we flew out - it looked like it was going to be good weather all week and then a front came in and changed everything.

As already said, you just cannot predict the weather and have to prepare for everything. We went the end of August last year, and we thought it would be chilly. We didn't bring any shorts, but we should ahve. it was about 80 almost every day and it never rained ONCE. Lucky, maybe. but we were prepared for everything. Better to have and not use than to not have and need.
