Lois R - nope... I relate to your contemporary association (had a relative on flt 93) but the expression pre-dated that day of infamy and apparently will survive it...

 

No - "Ground Zero" according to a first hand account is the crew quarters after hours party spot aboard Summit. The fellow traveler who was snuck in reports that those ever smiling over worked crew members DO know how to blow off steam.
