Palma de Mallorca - Beaches

Recommended Posts

Can someone give us a rundown of the different beaches in the area - and the positives/negatives of each?

We are looking for a nice beach, where we can get some chairs - maybe go jetsking (or something) and have a good paella on the sand. :)

Any recommendations?

We walked to the beach from the cathedral - but just for a quick dip. Maybe further along you would get more facilities.

You might find more folk with this sort of detail on trip advisor

Palma itself doesn't have a beach but you can get to Palma Nova, which is the new town nearby where there are hotels and a lovely beach. Or the next resort on from that is Magalluf which has a great beach and lots of jetskis and watersports. You don't say what age you are or what time of year you are going but Magalluf and Palma Nova are lively resorts in July-August and attract a large 18-30 crowd. If you want to go somewhere where it's not so lively you can head north to Alcudia where there are watersports. This is a more family orientated resort and there are buses that take you there, but if you are not wanting to travel far, stick with Magalluf.
