Navigator of the Seas - what is this structure at the stern?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have a courtesy hold on Navigator that expires this afternoon so would really appreciate a response.

I have managed to get an aft room facing backwards over the stern - room 9692. Having never sailed on Navigator I was doing some homework and found that the rear of the ship is encased in some kind of grid structure that the rooms are behind. See photo below. I am concerned that this will obstruct the view from the room.

1. What is it?

2. Does it get in the way?

Thanks in advance.

Phil

If you are referring to the horizontal bands, they are part of the fairing. aiding air flow and esthetically pleasing. If you are concerned about the view, this is only waist high, rather like the balcony. If these were omitted, you would fall off the ship. Enjoy the Navigator she is a fine ship.

Here is a great website to check out.

http://voyager-class.com/

The link below takes you to the aft blacony section.

You can then click on your cabin and see photos. It appears that you will not have an obstructed view.

Thank you for the fast responses guys!

Follow up question:-

Is the balcony on these rooms covered? I ask because of a couple of photos I saw on the excellent Voyager-Class website posted by ccMiMi.

It appears that the ceiling of the balcony area is partially open? I can't make out what I'm looking at.

We love the Aft cabins. Some people dont like the structure, but we really dont mind it at all to be honest. You have a broader view on the Aft balconies. Sure there are beams and stuff, but its really not a big deal.....at least to us. ;)
