chelseababy Posted May 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2011 Hi all I am due to make my final payment tomorrow for my Noordam cruise sailing on 26 August. I have received an upgrade from DA to SS a while ago as the price had fallen dramatically. I see on this site that once the balance is paid it is more difficult to get upgrade, OBS etc so thought I'd check things out before paying the balance tomorrow via my TA in UK. I have been checking frequently and today I can only see inside cabins available on this cruise on the HAL website, though on a TA site I find others including SS. My question is, has HAL got wise to me checking (via cookies?) and ensured I can't see what the current cost of SS cabins is? If so how can I get round this? Should I ask my TA to check? Any help appreciated! Chelseababy
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 19, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2011 That is weird I just went and pulled up that cruise and I can see all the prices. the SS is $2849 + $65.92 for taxes and government fees per person -- total is $5829.84 and there are still at least 6 cabins left in that category
chelseababy Posted May 19, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted May 19, 2011 Thanks for that. I managed to get in on my OHs old laptop and as you say there are 6 cabins left! The upshot is that the cabins are now £1378.09 x 2 and we paid £1289 originally for our VD cabins. So we haven't lost out - except we were quite happy with our original rooms but took the upgrade as they wouldn't give any OBS or refund. Doesn't seem right though that they can only show some staterooms when there are lots available. Anyway we will enjoy our upgrade and make the most of it! Thanks again

suttoncruisers Posted May 20, 2011 #7 Share Posted May 20, 2011 Hi How can you tell how many cabins are still available in a category? Thanks Sue
cert4me Posted May 20, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 20, 2011 so if my response on the HAL web site is no cabins are available for your chosen cruise does this mean we are sailing with a full ship? Mary
Rare kazu Posted May 20, 2011 #9 Share Posted May 20, 2011 so if my response on the HAL web site is no cabins are available for your chosen cruise does this mean we are sailing with a full ship? Mary They could be in the process of assigning their guarantees and when that happens it says 'call for availability'. It could also be that the ship is full. Hal rarely sails without a full ship;)
