NBA Playoffs

Will they be shown on the ships? Wanting to know if we can expect to see them while in Europe on the Magic.

My boys would like to know

Thant you

Unfortunately, it seems Carnival is unable to get the NBA playoffs for their ships in Europe. As per your Cruise Director John Heald: "the European stations we have don’t carry the NBA and unless we had a satellite dish the size of …….well……the ship, we were not going to get it."

Have a fun cruise, anyhoo. I'm sure the boys will be having so much fun they'll forget the finals are even happening!

the finals are on a main channel, CBS, not ESPN etc.

John might be referring to the play offs, not the finals starting TOMORROW that the MAVS need to be hot hot hot to melt the heat.

I could be wrong, but to me the finals are not the play offs, which are over.

Regardless of whether the term "playoffs" is an all-encompassing term for the post-season, or simply references the divisional playoffs, the finals aren't going to be shown, according to John Heald:

"By the way, Miami won and are playing Dallas in the finals. It’s Miami vs. Dallas, Dick Nor****zki vs Dwyane Wade, Brendon Harwood vs. LeBron James, The Arisons vs. The Ewings………. and me and Mr. Hangup…………won’t see a sodding moment of it. Bugger!" (-John Heald, CD on the Magic, here)

Have a fun cruise, guys! :)

Since the Miami Heat are owned by the owner of Carnival, I think it's a pretty safe bet that you will be able to watch the games....

I also thought the satalitte feed was now from Miami that went out to all ships. I cant imagine it not being shown?? But maybe europe doesnt get satalitte feed... since the finals are on a main station, CBS. I dont remember, but thought we got CBS. .. maybe not in europe?

The ships cruising the Caribbean used to get the Denver feeds and now get the Miami feeds.

I doubt ships cruising in Europe will be able to get the Miami feeds.

(line of sight with satelittes. Did not everyone watch Independence Day?:D)

I'm sure they carry some European stations while sailing over there.

Needless to say, Eurpean stations will be carrying soccer, NOT the NBA.
