  1. Never Mind.🙄😄 I found it. I was speed scrolling...
  2. I swear I saw a photo of a hair dryer on the Jubilee, showing that it is NOT attached inside a drawer. I thought it was on Saint Greg's review, but I tried to find it again and could not find it. I always take my own hair dryer because the ones on most(all) of the ships are 1. attached inside a drawer and 2. terrible hair dryers. Has anyone seen the ones on Jubilee (or Mardi Gras/Celebration)? The pic I saw showed the ConAir logo on it. If what I saw is correct, I might be willing to leave mine at home on our upcoming Jubilee cruise. Signed, Short, fine hair but picky about my hair dryer 😄
  3. I don't have young kids, but Id' take the Magic any day, probably the Eastern route, because Cozumel and Belize have been done several times. I have been on the Panorama and it's the same class ship as the Vista. Bigger than Magic, but I love the Dream Class ships.
  4. I remember coming into Cozumel one time, a number of years ago, and counting TEN ships, at two different docks and a couple anchored out using tenders to bring people ashore. It was NUTS. ETA: SaintGreg -Great review. Loved all the pics, all the new food choices especially. We're boarding Jubilee in less than 3weeks. Having seen all the photos will be very helpful!
  5. 18 days till we board the Jubilee. Hope this all works out come debark day!
  6. truth. I worked in retail for MANY years. Customers, in general, are far more likely to voice a complaint than a compliment. Numbers were about 7 out of 10 would give negative feedback about their experience, only 3 out of 10 would bother with positive feedback about their experience.
  7. Have been seeing comments about this and I believe John H posted something about it on Facebook, but I haven't seen a full explanation of the process. We cruise on Jubilee in about 5 weeks. Please enlighten us all if you have done this. Thanks!
  8. same. but that will change on May 4th when we board the Jubilee. I will be checking out all the new venues to see if they are all they're cracked up to be. Our last cruise (Dream-April 2023) food was less than stellar.
  9. Still Gold after 15 years because we very rarely have the time or $$$ to sail more than once a year. We made Gold level right around the time they switched from # of cruises to # of days, so that worked out. We are nearing Platinum; if nothing changes before January 2025, we'll be Platinum when we board the Dream for a 14 day Journeys cruise. One of my thoughts on levels is maybe Red level requires two cruises or maybe 10 or 14 days accumulated before they reach Blue level instead of one cruise, any number of days, and then you get blue. As long as they don't switch to $$ based, because we don't gamble (except for my penchant for playing Bingo 3 or 4 times on a cruise) and we don't drink much.
  10. You must be just north of us. We live on the north side of Ellis County. 4 hour drive is being optimistic, but it's easier than leaving from, say. Plano!
  11. we have a 4 hour drive to Galveston, and we go the day before. Traffic can be terrible and I am not willing to take that chance!
  12. SAME! Just reading all of it was enough for this old girl. 😄
  13. I'm still on page 1 of your review, but I have to say, you're my kind of people! I can almost hear you talking, while reading your comments. Come sail with us on the Jubilee so I can hang out with you. 😄 We sailed on the Panorama in February 2020, next to last cruise before the pandemic struck. She was brand new and a really beautiful ship. Took some getting used to since it was our first cruise on Vista Class.
  14. wow. I used to live down there and those flooded streets are no joke. 10 minutes of rain and the water is up to the bottom of your car door. Glad I am not going on the Jubilee until May. Mardi Gras parades and floods. No bueno!
  15. We loved Nachi Cocum . It's been a few years since we were there, but will be heading there in May, also on the Jubilee. Happy to see your review and sort of get the lay of the land/ ship, so to speak!
  16. Interested in your opinion of Nachi. I just booked it for our cruise coming up in May. Have been there before and loved it, but it's been several years... have read some recent reviews that indicate it's not what it used to be...
  17. I can vouch for the run-down appearance of the Dream. She needs some work. Furniture is worn, carpet in the cabin dirty and stained. Have sailed the Magic in 2012 when it was brand new, the Breeze 3 times, 2017 and 2021(2 times). Dream is the oldest of the three, and we sailed on it earlier this year. Definitely showing the wear and tear of 12 years of crowds. I love the Dream Class ships (deck 5 Ocean Plaza) but the Breeze and Magic are tied for 1st place on my list. Hoping that the Dream gets a cleanup before our 2025 Journeys cruise!
  18. speaking of Nachi Cocom... If you are planning to go there any time in 2024, you should reserve your spots before October 31, 2023. Price is going up to $69.00 per person on November 1. Reserve now at the current rate of $59.00 per person. We are on the Jubilee in May 2024. Just booked Nachi today.
  19. the Journeys cruise we're booked on is January 11, 2025. 14 days. On the Dream out of Galveston.
  20. Also Galveston and I agree. Have sailed from N.O., Fort Lauderdale, and Long Beach. I can't recall anything as bad as previously mentioned, but our last cruise(April on the Dream), we had an adjoining cabin and it seemed like the noise from next door was particularly loud, especially their TV. We did ask them once to turn it down. On that cruise, I spent more time than usual in the cabin because I was not feeling well. (Somebody gave me COVID, probably embarkation day, because it hit me day 5 of the cruise. Of course, COVID never crossed my mind until we got home and I did a test before I went to the doctor.) I digress, as usual😄 Hope we don't encounter the rude people any time soon!
  21. We have a Journeys cruise booked from Galveston that will take us to Key West, San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Croix in USVI, St. Kitts, Amber Cove, St. Maarten, and Ocho Rios(not the exact order). Getting to those places from Galveston takes a long time! There is also an 11or 12 day that goes south to Aruba and Curacao.
  22. I really don't like cake frosting; I will scrape it off of almost any cake anywhere. I am a bit of baked goods snob, I confess. I'd rather bake my own cake, but I can't do that on the ship. Their cakes must be pre-made and frozen, thawed and decorated each day. The cakes, almost without exception, are coarse and dry. Pretty to look at, but not all that edible.
  23. My S.O.'s daughter works for Southwest, and dad has the free flight benefit. Bit him in the butt several times. We flew to Florida for a cruise several years ago using those benefits, and barely got seats every leg going and coming back. PreCOVID, "we" were going to L.A. to see my daughter. I paid for my ticket and wound up being by myself because dad's free flight was bumped and bumped and bumped. If we really need to get somewhere, we pay for the flight!
  24. I turn platinum on our Journeys cruise coming up in 15 months. S.O. is a day short of me because I took a 4 day cruise without him and caught up/got ahead of him and his 3 day advantage. I'd like to take a 5-7 day cruise next year to tide us over to January 2025, but I'm not sure that will happen...our Journeys cruise will probably be nothing but Platinum and Diamond
  25. 80s party? how about a 70s party? Maybe even the 60s! In the 80s, I had a house full of kids and all I did was work and clean house. I don't recall much about the 80s, but I do know I was NOT partying!!🤣🤣🤣
