Kiwi Kruzer Posted June 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2011 Heres a timely reminder for Au/NZ cruisers when cruising overseas. Independence of the Seas was docked at Gibraltar, next to an oil tank, which caught fire. The ship dropped the ropes and straight away went into the bay to anchor. WOW... what a close call. Could have been nasty. Sandielle Posted June 1, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2011 That could have been very nasty. Thank goodness the IOS was able to get out safely.

I did read that 2 passengers were left ashore, but he anchored in the bay and they were picked up and brought back to the ship. Bon Voyage Jacquie.... Have a great cruise.
