Mom.to.2 Posted November 17, 2011 #851 Share Posted November 17, 2011 No, didn't do that when we were in Nassau. We took a local bus to the Sheraton. I think it was $25 each but not sure. The Sheraton is on Cable Beach and the beach was great! We were able to use all their facilities......got lounge chairs, could use their pools too and they also provided nice big towels. I believe non motarized equipment was included to although we didn't use any. There was another hotel next door which had a casino in it but can't remember the name of that one. We walked over there and they also had a very nice pool. There were a few different pools on the Shreraton property. it was not crowded at all and a very relaxing day. We've done the Sheraton both times we've been to Nassau and loved it too! (We took a cab tho)

Snostar Posted November 17, 2011 #853 Share Posted November 17, 2011 I see that the RCI website lists Explorer as having four pools. They obviously have two on the main pool deck, one in the solarium, but where is the fourth? Is it a kids pool? I wondered about this too!

Mickeymouse22 Posted November 17, 2011 #856 Share Posted November 17, 2011 We are traveling on the Explorer in May with my sister and her husband. We have balcony cabins and would like to have the partition open if possible. On another thread I was told to wait and ask our cabin steward when we board. Anyone been on the Explorer lately with this situation? Fred

Preacherman46 Posted November 19, 2011 #866 Share Posted November 19, 2011 (edited) Edit! Oops, haven't even boarded the ship and already "lost at sea on the wrong ship"! This is about Explorer and we are going on Voyager of the Sea. Sorry!!! First time cruisers here. Seeing all the comments about steel balconies just on deck 6? Didn't know about that. Sad to hear that we won't be able to see well when sitting down. Could anyone tell us why this is? Thanks! Thanks!Cruise ships use steel about halfway up then go to lighter weight for the higher decks, makes the ship more stable, the bottom decks act as ballast. Keep in mind that deck 7 and up they do have a glass but they are usually not very see thru so you might as well have a steel wall. See pic below this is a deck 7 balcony. imjoyful2 Posted November 20, 2011 #869 Share Posted November 20, 2011 Hey everyone! I see many familiar faces from our cruise almost exactly a year ago! :) I didn't expect to be posting on this thread so soon but we got a great last minute deal and decided to go for it. This is our 3rd time on the Explorer but first time with an infant. We were blessed with our 6th precious kiddo this past July and she'll just have turned 6 months old before we leave end of January. My question is, are there baby changing stations in any of the public restrooms? (I never paid attention before). Any other tips for traveling with an infant on Explorer? Looking forward to some much needed time away (older kiddos have no clue yet we are going, will be a Christmas surprise for them!)
Mom.to.2 Posted November 20, 2011 #870 Share Posted November 20, 2011 I admit it. I'm one of "those people" who pack their swimsuits in the carryon and make beeline for the hot tubs as soon as we board. So far, we've only cruised in April. This February will be our 1st winter departure from NJ. You may think I'm crazy, but I'll ask anyway: Are the hot tubs open while docked in NJ during the winter months? If they're not, I won't bother packing our swimsuits in our carryon's TIA
