Best spot on Summit for chilling?

I knew someone was going to say verandah, sadly I don't have one on this trip.

Summit has a wonderful bar outside, upstairs, all the way AFT of the

buffet. Tables, chairs, umbrellas and a fabulous view:)

Many of us book cruises without balconies, so please don't feel too

sad.

Enjoy your cruise:)

During the day, the nightclub is as good as it gets for looking at the water. It's generally quiet as a mouse unless they are cleaning/vacuuming. Otherwise, you have to search out your spots depending on the activities in the various lounge spaces. DW loves the Solarium.

It's been a few years since I was on Summit, but I really liked the ship. Ditto for Millenium.

Where is the best spot to just sit and look out at the water?

Where is the best spot to have a cocktail?

Where is the best spot period.

Different people have different spots to enjoy the view and have a drink. One of ours is always the aft bar on deck 10 aft of the buffet.

Some people also like the view from the area on deck 11 over looking to pool by the Mast Bar. Others like the indoor Revelations nightclub at the forward end of deck 11 which is almost like an observation lounge. There is also an outdoor sunning and observation area above the lounge with a nice forward view - I'd guess you'd call it deck 12 but you get there by going as forward as you can outdoors on deck 11 and then going up the steps.

For drinks we enjoy the aft bar late afternoons. We also enjoy the Martini Bar before dinner. But there are other great bars on board including the Rendez-vous lounge. The layout of some of the bars will change after January 2012 when the Summit completes a major renovation.

Another vote here for the Aft Bar. Great view of the port or the wake, if sailing. Choice of sun or shade. Libations of all types brought on your command by friendly staffers. WiFi on the Summit, (but sadly not all M class  ). Buffet only steps away. Loungers in full sun just up the stairs.

In our cruise world it don't get no better! :D

Honorable mention goes to the free form seating area near the Cova Cafe, if you want to be indoors.

Hiding away from the crowds on a sea day - not in direct sun - Promenade deck non smoking side if you want to be outside. The Solarium is also lovely if it isn't busy. As PP have said - the nightclub on the Sunrise deck, if you want to be inside. (not looking at the water, but just finding a quiet place to read - Michael's club or the library)

Drinks - Aft bar or Michael's

Best over - Solarium in the evening.

Alas, that last part not for long. That's where the AQ cabins are going.
