pswoo Posted March 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2005 I'm wondering what the hours of operation are for the streetcars and if it is possible to take a trolley between the French Quarter and pier/Riverwalk area. Thanks in advance for your help.
zydecocruiser Posted March 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2005 One of the streetcar lines (#2 - Riverfront) runs along the river side of the French Quarter to the cruise ships area. Hours can vary with weekday or Saturday or Sunday. http://www.regionaltransit.org/
wwinfl91 Posted March 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2005 If you are going to be in New Orleans for any length of time be sure to go up a little further on Canal street to St Charles avenue and try the St Charles street car line which runs out into the Garden District. It is the best couple of dollars you can spend in New Orleans. The street cars on the riverfront route are mainly for tourists but the St Charles line is still used by the people of New Orleans like people in other cities use buses or subways. It makes the experience that much more real. They are also supposed to be briinging back street cars that go up from the riverfront along Canal street. Have a great next cruise. Budget Queen Posted March 19, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2005 The Riverfront stops running late night. The St. Charles runs 24 hours/day but infrequent at night.
