dewats784 Posted June 19, 2011 #26 Share Posted June 19, 2011 We enjoyed the fun ship tour on our last cruise. Also liked tea time and the serenity deck. Read my kindle, soaked up the sun and had several Kiss on the Lips drinks. Fun Fun!!
cruisenanny Posted June 19, 2011 #27 Share Posted June 19, 2011 Maybe a galley tour if they have one, breakfast and/or lunch in the MDR, some time on deck with a few drinks & a great book, maybe bingo, tea time and definately a nap with hubby;). MorePlease Posted June 19, 2011 #28 Share Posted June 19, 2011 We always take a nap on either the outside deck by the lobby or on the Panoramic deck, aft. The first is great for midday - it is covered, you can still hear and see the waves, get a breeze and best of all not a lot of people go there. It's always quiet and relaxing. We like the Panoramic aft for the late afternoons when it is not so hot. You get more of a breeze to counteract the heat of the waning sun and aft deck is quieter. The movement of the ship, breeze and sound of the waves always puts us to sleep.
IBsaved Posted June 19, 2011 #29 Share Posted June 19, 2011 DON'T go to the art auction. It's not really art and it's not really an auction, it's a sales pitch for prints you could get for a lot less anywhere else. The "auction" is just there to keep people confused as to what costs what. They do give you a glass of champagne if you stick around long enough, but I'd rather pay for the drink and enjoy my free time elsewhere. DON'T buy watches or jewelry on board, it's cheap crap, and not just the stuff they sell for $10! I once bought a small "Guess" leather purse for $120 where the zipper broke the day I got off the ship. I think it was some look alike cheapo that they sold as the real thing. I can't prove it, but I can't believe a genuine Guess leather purse would have done that after just a few days of use. My husband was tempted by a $1000 watch and I'm so glad he didn't get it, for that kind of money I want to go to a local jeweler I know and trust. I go look at the photo gallery on sea days, I like to look at the shops (but I only buy a shirt or something), take photos, look at the ocean, read a book, chase down my kid, spend time in the bubbles, have a few drinks, go to high tea, I never get enough sea days! Sorry to hear about your experiences with art auctions and watches. We have purchased artwork and they have all turned out to be well worth what we paid and have increased in value but they were mostly lithographs and originals. I purchased a ladies pulsar watch on a Princess cruise in 2000 and it is still working and I've never had a problem with it. I guess it just depends on the brand. Texas_firefighter Posted June 19, 2011 #30 Share Posted June 19, 2011 In some ways it depends on the ship.On the Magic, I'd say some laps around the track, breakfast in MDR, a round of mini-golf, water slides, ropes course, some poolside time with refreshments, an afternoon nap with my wife ;), some balcony time with a glass of champagne, get ready for evening activities... or some variation of that:D
gone_cruisin Posted June 19, 2011 #31 Share Posted June 19, 2011 Have lunch in the main dining room, then head out to the pool for the late afternoon tan. Most people are fried by 2pm, so the deck chairs are all ours!

SunshineBooks8 Posted June 19, 2011 #33 Share Posted June 19, 2011 definitely stay up the night before, sleep in, eat a leisurely breakfast, relax, drink, swim, etc. Basically just as i imagine a vacation should be.
path145 Posted June 21, 2011 #34 Share Posted June 21, 2011 I like to hang out on on the Lido and drink, eat and people watch. Try out the slots in the casino. Take a walk around and explore the ship. Probably get in a nap. We've never made it to the trivia tournament, tea time, or martini tasting, but those are things we plan to do next time. I used to bring books with me but I've given that up. I can read at home.
cahill85 Posted June 21, 2011 #35 Share Posted June 21, 2011 I have to agree about the jewelry. Not bad if the girls want to buy some costume jewelry. But most of it is not worth anything. I went thru one of the stores as they were putting out the "jewelry" for the big sale. All the boxes were "Made in China" crap. As for the "sea days", DW and I will be spending a fair amount of time in the cabin and balcony !!

thefish Posted June 22, 2011 #44 Share Posted June 22, 2011 It was a sea day. I was lying on a pool side lounger which I had found vacant that morning before the neighboring loungers were mysteriously occupied by books, towels and sandals. I had been here all day. Not wanting to give up my pool side perch to run to the cabin for more sun tan lotion, my ample stomach had turned a bright cherry red from the solar exposure. I noticed a tall voluptuous red head standing at the head of the pool. Her beautiful blue eyes hidden by an expensive pair of Oakly sun glasses. She was scanning the pool area looking perhaps for a suitable lounge chair now vacant because it was close to dinner’s first seating. Perhaps she was searching for a compatibly beautiful male, or female, companion. Then our eyes locked. I was embarrassed to be caught staring at her but I could not turn my eyes away from this vision of obsession. She slowly glided across the deck towards me, her long tan legs carrying her goddess body as gently as the waiter had carried our Baked Alaska the night before. She approached me and bent over. Her full sensual lips almost touched me as she whispered in my ear. “Wake up and get your lazy fat butt ready for dinner in ten minutes or I’m going to make the rest of this cruise a living hell for you!” Abruptly I awoke. I was lying on our cabin bed in shirt and underwear with a scowling face hovering over me. “Sorry Honey. I must have drifted off.”

dixiediva761 Posted June 22, 2011 #46 Share Posted June 22, 2011 sleep in, breakfast on deck, balcony time, lido deck time, roulette time lunch on deck, more balcony or roulette time and rest then dinner in MDR. If I am with my hubby a bit more cabin time ;) . This next cruise is with my high school best friend and we are planning a scrabble tournament between us either on our balcony with a beverage or two or three or on lido with a beverage or two or three as we are "words with friends" addicts
Mad Capn Bob Posted June 23, 2011 #47 Share Posted June 23, 2011 That reminds me...I'll have to pack my binoculars for the October cruise.
