alwalaska Posted June 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2011 I have a friend going to Alaska with a lot of family members. She is looking for quiet or non-crowded locations on the ship where she can escape and relax from time to time. Any ideas on where she should go? PantherFan Posted June 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2011 During the day the Shall we dance lounge or the Moonlight Bay lounges on deck 6 Deck 7 near the Centrum elevators you have the card room and library Deck 8 the explorers lounge and the crown and anchor study If they don't have a balcony or don't want to be outside. see the deck plans http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Main/decks.php?ship=Rhapsody+of+the+Seas
alwalaska Posted June 24, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Her balcony. Unfortunately, that won't get her away from her family members sharing the cabin. ;)

I will pass the info on. Depending on the weather, I'm not sure about the outside thing. All the ships I have been on typically have some lounge chairs outside in an area where not very many people go or know about. Is there one of these areas on Rhapsody? PantherFan Posted June 24, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Yes I believe deck 5 and the Solarium (Crystal Canopy) on deck 10. Plus you will find other areas as well. I was just on the Rhapsody the last week of May in Alaska.
cb at sea Posted June 24, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2011 What areas may or not be crowded will vary from cruise to cruise.....she'll find unused spots here and there around the ship on her own. There are many "seating areas" scattered about....
BallFour4 Posted June 24, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 24, 2011 The lounges during the day are excellent choices as well as the Viking Crown lounge. My favorite are the loungers in the solarium. The ones along the windows are a great place to watch the world go by. The only downside for them is the windows are a green tint, and they distort the colors of the scenery. .
