Reasons yopu choose Celebrity Summit

If you are traveling with kids/teens and the itineraries are the same I'd say go with Brilliance.

If you want a quiet cruise without announcements and silly games on the pool deck, I'd say go on the Summit. It is the same company with a different cruise experience on the different lines. It really depends on what you want out of your cruise. :D

The two are pretty different in ambiance, I think it depends on your preferences --- and whom you are sailing with! Celebrity's Summit will be quieter, more sedate and elegant without being stuffy. The Brilliance will be livelier, have more activities, more "action" for lack of a better word. Celebrity is known for excellent food and service, RCL is more geared towards entertainment. I agree that if you are sailing with children and teens, they may prefer the Brilliance, although I'm sure you'll hear reports of children who have sailed Celebrity and had a great time. Our children are grown so we prefer Celebrity at this point, but we looked for a more active cruiseline when they were sailing with us.
