Thank you for the information. Does this mean that a captain rotating on will join the last sailing of the previous captain, to make for a smooth transition?

 

when a captain joins a new ship they do what's called an overlap. The new captains rotation doesn't officially start until he's actually in command. It's a chance for the current master to show the new master tips about ports etc. I was on MJ when Capt Kjonso did an overlap with Capt Johansen. Even though Capt Johansen still had ultimate authority, Capt Per did arrivals and departures, with Capt Johansen overseeing the process. The new captain also spends this time to meet all the department heads.

What about Captain Teo? He should be available for one of the empty spots.

 

I haven't heard any news about Capt Teo. I don't know if he's one of the four that took a fleet captain position shoreside like Capt Kasselas did, or if he's been assigned to another ship, or is the one that retired.

The new captain on Vision will be Michael Lindberg. He has just been promoted. This info was given to me by Capt Marek, so is reliable. I believe Capt Marek rotates off 1/11/16.

 

My Excel sheet says the rotation date is 12-24-15 but it doesn't account for cruises that are longer than 7 days. I will make a note that rotation may not occur until 1-11-16

Vision has been doing some 9 and 10 night sailings since she got back from Barcelona, and won't start 7 night until end of January. When I was on Vision last month, Capt Marek said he would be on until 1/11/16. He'll be back on 3/26/16.
