allurenewbie Posted July 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2011 ....wonder if we can just punch the cards ourselves. We have lanyards that we use for our water bottles on scout camping trips. Just wondered if we could punch the sea pass card ourelves and go on our merry way. Thanks for any info.
WeLove2CruiseRCI Posted July 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2011 They are plastic, like a credit/debit card thickness.

sparky-elpaso Posted July 16, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2011 Just go to the front desk and they'll punch the hole for you - they do it all the time.
Paulxyz2004 Posted July 16, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2011 If you punch your card yourself you have to pay attention to a couple of things. Don´t destroy the magnetic strype on the back. Don´t destroy the barcode on the back. Dont punch the holes like they do to indicate you are underage ;)

MM27 Posted July 18, 2011 #7 Share Posted July 18, 2011 I will never again punch a hole in my card. Did it on one cruise and I was questioned every time I tried to get a drink.
MrsPete Posted July 18, 2011 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2011 Go to your local Walmart and buy a fishing license holder. It's a small plastic holder with a ziplock top that'll pop right onto your lanyard, and it will hold your SeaPass perfectly WITHOUT PUNCHING. Ours cost one dollar, and my daughters have been using the same one for three cruises now.
romnan Posted July 18, 2011 #9 Share Posted July 18, 2011 I would advise on doing it yourself and at any rate you are not going to receive ontil you check in for the cruise:)

Daghis Posted July 18, 2011 #12 Share Posted July 18, 2011 In case anyone may be curious, this is what a SeaPass looks like. This is the front: The two brackets [ ] in the lower right-hand side are where the punches are made that determine whether someone is under 18 (both punched) or 18-20 (one punched). You can also see the Coca-Cola logo that's printed on the card when you pre-purchase the fountain soda package. In my opinion, it's better to have it printed on the card instead of getting a sticker put on the card if it's purchased onboard. This is the back: This shows the barcodes and the magnetic stripe. gjsmth Posted July 18, 2011 #13 Share Posted July 18, 2011 If your going to hole punch it yourself I make sure I would hole punch it in a corner but not in the bottom right side area. My DS(8) got the soda card and they punched his twice on the bottom right side and so as to match his hole I punched one matching his ( wanted card to match on our lanyard). All week I was periodically asked if this was my card and came to find out one hole punch meant you were a teen and 2 punches meant you were under teen age while this was never an issue I'd next time hole punch on the top or left side of card.
